
Kirby Drake has been named 1 of 36 members of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Fellows for 2025. ACS Fellows are ACS members who have shown outstanding achievements in and contributions to science, the chemistry profession, and the society. Ms. Drake and the other 2025 ACS Fellows were celebrated at a ceremony held during ACS Fall 2025 in Washington, DC.
The ACS Fellows program was created by the ACS Board of Directors in December 2008 to recognize members of the ACS for outstanding achievements in and contributions to science, the profession, and the Society. Ms. Drake was recognized for leadership and commitment to helping ACS members, clients, and the public understand and protect intellectual property, particularly patents and trademarks, including numerous presentations, workshops, and publications. She also was recognized for exemplary leadership of the Committee on Patents and Related Matters (CPRM), especially renewing an ACS policy statement on patents, the DFW Local Section, and SWRM 2014.
