On April 5, 2021, during the American Chemical Society (ACS) National Spring Meeting, Kirby Drake co-presented with Neal Langerman on the topic of “Vaccinations Support Your Employees and Your Business.” This presentation was part of a session sponsored by the ACS Professional Development Division (PROF) entitled “COVID: Lessons Learned.”
Kirby and Neal discussed protecting your workforce by vaccinations, including why do anything, what can be done, what should be done, deciding how best to proceed, and the pros and cons of each approach. Kirby also focused on some of the legal issues related to vaccinations in the workplace, particularly privacy issues (HIPAA) and policies and procedures to consider now to be prepared to address vaccination issues that may arise.
Kirby has been an active member of the ACS since 1999 when she graduated from Duke University with a bachelors of science in chemistry.
